The techniques are the part of the DeRose Method which you will be most exposed to because they are visually appealing. During your introductory classes and later, in Swásthya, you will learn how to execute these techniques so that you can apply them on your day-to-day, benefiting from the results to improve your performance.

Overall, at the DeRose Method TriBeCa, we use 8 families of techniques. We know that it is a lot to take in, therefore, the introductory classes focus on teaching four techniques which can be seen as a foundation to the work we will do. The techniques we use in the introductory classes are:

* Breathing techniques: our bodies use oxygen as one of its main fuels, therefore, the more we can maximise the intake of air and oxygen, the more effectively you can perform.

* Abdominal contractions: there are two important functions for this technique in the introductory class: the first is to help to develop abdominal strength, the second is to stimulate your internal organs and improve their functioning.

* Physical techniques: the DeRose Method does not use cardio exercises, we are not looking to increase your heart rate (on the contrary). The DeRose Method is focused on producing consistent performance to allow you to have comfort and enjoyment. This means that our approach to the body is unique and the results are amazing, as you can see from the video below: strength, flexibility, vitality and power.

* Winding down: at the end of the Introductory class it is important to wind down so you can allow your body and your mind to assimilate the teachings and be able to incorporate them.

The length of time which you will spend in the introductory classes is completely related to your own efforts. We recommend that our members stay no more than 3 months at the introductory classes before moving on to Swásthya, the majority of people do it in just one month.
